“What changed – how reflected”: Mobility in Plüderhausen (from April 7 to April 13, 2024)

The second meeting of our Erasmus project “what changed – how reflected” took place in Plüderhausen. For a whole week our international team (consisting of 30 students + teachers) wanted to discover two topics:

  1. “Industrial Revolution / Industrialization” reflected in art, culture and literature and
  2.  “Art and architecture of the early 20th century in Germany”.

After the Croatian, Spanish and Turkish team had arrived on Sunday morning, our official program started on Monday. Monday: In the morning the guests were welcomed by our principal Mr. Groitzsch, the school-dance-club and our primary-students singing motivating songs.Afterwards our students gave their presentations about various aspects of “Industrialization”. One of the highlights of the program followed in the afternoon: We got the exclusive opportunity to be part of a guided tour inside the Mercedes Benz factory in Sindelfingen. Tuesday:On Tuesday morning our international group was warmly welcomed in the town hall of Plüderhausen by our major Mr. Treiber. And we could also taste the Swabian speciality “Butterbrezel” there.Back in school different presentations about our second topic “Art in the early 20th century” followed. The day continued in Schwäbisch Gmünd where a high ropes course challenged our courage. Wednesday:Wednesday was our art day: First we visited a workshop in the “Staatsgallerie Stuttgart”. There we received plenty of information about Oskar Schlemmer and the art style “Bauhaus”. Our second workshop took place in the “Weissenhofsiedlung” in Stuttgart. There we learned a lot about “Bauhaus” and the stylish architecture of the early 20th century. Thursday:On Thursday we travelled to Stuttgart again. At the Porsche Museum we gained an insight into the history of the automobile and the history of the car brand Porsche.Later that day we took part in a guided tour in the centre of Stuttgart. There the history of the city was explained to us. Friday: On the last day of our official program we went back to school and joined two more workshops: “architecture of Bauhaus” and “Electrical engine and solar energy”. In both workshops we constructed different models together. In the evening all members of the program received their certificate from the European Union. After a farewell dinner we had our farewell party together.  Saturday:On Saturday our guests were brought back to the airport of Stuttgart by their hosts. Then it was time to say goodbye and a beautiful week came to an end.
